Stripe
Hosted checkout and Payment Links wired to your Webflow site — cards, Apple Pay, subscriptions.
Stripe is the payment processor that powers Webflow Ecommerce under the hood and the most common way to accept payments on any Webflow site. The Stripe Webflow integration covers cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and subscriptions across 135+ currencies through a PCI-compliant hosted checkout. For sites that do not need a full storefront, Stripe Payment Links let you sell a single product, subscription, or donation from a button with no Ecommerce plan and no monthly fees.
What you can do with Stripe on Webflow
- Accept cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay in 135+ currencies through Stripe's hosted, PCI-compliant checkout.
- Run a full Webflow Ecommerce store with native cart, product CMS, order management, and Stripe as the gateway.
- Sell without an Ecommerce plan using Payment Links pasted onto any Webflow button or Embed component.
- Offer subscriptions and recurring billing with a self-service customer portal for plan changes and cancellations.
- Trigger post-purchase automation with webhooks such as
checkout.session.completedto grant access or send receipts. - Send invoices and one-off checkout sessions for services, quotes, and pay-what-you-want donations.
Three ways the Stripe Webflow integration connects
1. Webflow Ecommerce (built-in gateway). Stripe is the default processor for Webflow Ecommerce plans, powering the native cart, checkout, and order management. Best for multi-product stores that need shipping, tax, and inventory tied to the Webflow CMS.
2. Stripe App. Install Stripe from Webflow's Apps panel to create products and Payment Links inside the Designer without an Ecommerce plan, useful for marketing sites that sell a handful of items.
3. Stripe Payment Links. Generate a checkout URL in the Stripe Dashboard and paste it onto any Webflow button. No plan, no cart, no code — ideal for single products, subscriptions, and donations.
How to accept payments with Stripe Payment Links
Stripe Payment Links on Webflow are the fastest way to accept payments on Webflow with Stripe when you do not need a full storefront.
- Create a Stripe account at dashboard.stripe.com and complete business verification (KYC) so you can take live payments.
- In the Stripe Dashboard, open Payment Links and create a new link for a product, subscription, or pay-what-you-want donation.
- Configure price, recurring interval, custom fields, and success URL, then copy the generated checkout URL.
- In the Webflow Designer, select a button and set its link to the Payment Link URL, or paste the embed code into an Embed component.
- Optionally add webhooks for events like
checkout.session.completedto grant access, email receipts, or trigger Zapier, Make, or Webflow Logic. - Toggle Stripe from Test mode to Live mode, publish your site, and run one real transaction to confirm the flow.
How to enable Stripe in Webflow Ecommerce
- Create and verify a Stripe account, including KYC, so Webflow can authorize it.
- In Webflow, open Settings > Ecommerce > Payments and click Connect Stripe.
- Authorize the connection in Stripe's popup and set your currency and payout schedule.
- Design your product template, cart, and checkout using Webflow's native Ecommerce elements.
- Switch Stripe from Test to Live, publish, and place a test order to verify the full flow.
Stripe + Webflow fees explained
Stripe's standard US rate is 2.9% plus 30 cents per successful online card transaction, with no setup or monthly fees. On the Webflow Ecommerce Standard plan, Webflow adds a 2% transaction fee on top of Stripe's processing; the Plus and Advanced plans waive that fee. Stripe Payment Links and the Stripe App carry no subscription cost, so outside of Ecommerce you only pay Stripe's processing. Understanding these Webflow Stripe fees up front is the main factor in choosing between the lightweight and full-store paths.
| Plan / path | Stripe fee | Webflow fee | Total on a $100 card payment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe Payment Links (no Ecommerce) | 2.9% + 30¢ | none | $3.20 |
| Webflow Ecommerce Standard | 2.9% + 30¢ | 2% | $5.20 |
| Webflow Ecommerce Plus / Advanced | 2.9% + 30¢ | 0% | $3.20 |
Plus breaks even versus Standard at roughly $3,700 in monthly sales, since the 2% saved covers the plan price difference.
Stripe vs. Shopify for Webflow ecommerce
Stripe alone is enough when you sell a few items and want total design control; Shopify is the better choice when you need a complete storefront engine with deep shipping, inventory, and tax tooling. Many teams combine them — Webflow for the marketing site and headless Shopify for checkout — which is exactly why a dedicated Shopify for Webflow integration exists.
| Dimension | Stripe on Webflow | Shopify |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Few products, subscriptions, services, donations | Large catalogs, high-volume stores |
| Cart and checkout | Hosted by Stripe; single-product with Payment Links | Full cart and Shopify checkout |
| Shipping and tax | Manual, or in Stripe for Payment Links | Built-in carrier rates and tax automation |
| Design control | Total, in the Webflow Designer | Theme-based, with Liquid customization |
| Transaction fees | 2.9% + 30¢ (Webflow +2% on Standard) | From 2.9% + 30¢, waivable with Shopify Payments |
Best use cases
Selling digital products and courses
Use a Payment Link for an ebook, template, or course, then webhook the purchase to a fulfillment tool or Memberstack to grant access automatically.
Subscriptions and memberships
Pair Stripe subscriptions with Memberstack or gating logic so a successful checkout unlocks member-only pages and recurring billing runs on autopilot.
Service invoices and quotes
Send a Stripe invoice or checkout session from a Webflow form submission, letting clients pay a deposit or fixed quote without building a storefront.
Donations and pay-what-you-want
Create a custom-amount Payment Link labeled Donate and place it on a Webflow button; Stripe handles receipts and an optional recurring donation toggle.
Lightweight physical product sales
For one or two products, skip the Ecommerce plan and sell through Payment Links; graduate to Webflow Ecommerce or Shopify when you need a cart and shipping automation.
Limitations to know
- Payment Links support a single product per checkout, with no native cart, order management, or multi-item purchase flow.
- Webflow Ecommerce Standard adds a 2% fee on top of Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢; only Plus and Advanced waive it.
- Shipping, tax, and inventory are not handled in the Payment Links flow; configure them in Stripe or move to full Ecommerce.
- Checkout page branding lives in the Stripe Dashboard, not the Webflow Designer, so styling stays inside Stripe.
Related Webflow integrations

Frequently asked questions
Yes. Stripe is the default payment processor built into Webflow Ecommerce, handling card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and subscriptions across 135+ currencies. When you connect a payment provider in Webflow Settings, Stripe is the primary option, and Webflow's hosted checkout runs on Stripe's infrastructure. You can also use Stripe independently of Ecommerce through Payment Links or the Stripe App, so Stripe powers payments on Webflow whether or not you run a full storefront.
Yes. Stripe Payment Links work on any Webflow site without an Ecommerce plan. You create a link in the Stripe Dashboard, then paste the URL onto a Webflow button or drop the embed code into an Embed component. Each link opens a Stripe-hosted checkout for a single product, subscription, or donation. You keep your Webflow design and skip the cart, product CMS, and Ecommerce plan entirely.
Stripe charges 2.9% plus 30 cents per successful card transaction, with no setup or monthly fees. On the Webflow Ecommerce Standard plan, Webflow adds a 2% transaction fee on top of Stripe's processing fee, so a typical online card payment costs about 4.9% plus 30 cents. The Webflow Ecommerce Plus and Advanced plans waive the 2% fee, leaving only Stripe's standard processing. Payment Links used outside Ecommerce incur only the Stripe fee.
Use Stripe directly when you sell a few products, subscriptions, or services and want to keep your Webflow design without running a full store. Use Shopify when you need a complete storefront with large catalogs, advanced shipping, inventory, and tax automation. Many teams run Webflow for marketing and headless Shopify for checkout. If you only need simple payments, Stripe Payment Links on Webflow avoid Shopify's monthly cost and app stack entirely.
Create a Payment Link in Stripe set to a custom amount, then paste the URL onto a Webflow button labeled Donate. Stripe's hosted checkout handles the card input, receipts, and recurring donation option if you enable it. Because Payment Links need no Ecommerce plan, you pay only Stripe's 2.9% plus 30 cents per donation. For suggested amounts, create separate links for set values, or let donors choose with the custom-amount field.
