How to send Webflow form submissions to an email address?

Flowversity··2 min read

Webflow includes built-in email notifications for form submissions, so you do not need third-party integrations to receive submissions by email. Setting it up takes just a few steps in your project settings.

Enabling email notifications

Go to your Webflow Dashboard and open Project Settings for the site containing your form. Navigate to the Forms tab. Under Email Notifications, you will find the option to add notification email addresses.

Enter the email address where you want to receive submissions. You can add multiple addresses if multiple people need to be notified. Each submission triggers an email to all configured addresses.

Configuring the notification email

In the same Forms settings panel, you can customize:

  • Subject line — defaults to the form name, but you can make it more descriptive
  • Reply-to address — set this to the submitter's email field so you can reply directly to the notification
  • From name — the sender name shown in your inbox

To set the reply-to field, use the dropdown to select which form field contains the submitter's email address. This is typically a field named "Email" in your form.

What the notification email contains

Each notification email includes:

  • All submitted form field data, formatted clearly
  • The date and time of submission
  • The page URL where the form was submitted
  • A link to view the submission in your Webflow Dashboard

Using third-party integrations for more control

If you need advanced features like conditional routing, auto-responders, or CRM integration, connect your form to an external service. Common options include:

  • Zapier — Route submissions to Gmail, Slack, HubSpot, Airtable, and thousands of other apps
  • Make (Integromat) — Similar to Zapier with visual workflow building
  • Mailchimp — Add form submitters directly to an email list

To set up a third-party integration, go to Project Settings > Apps & Integrations or use the form's custom action URL in the Element Settings panel.

Checklist

  • Open Project Settings > Forms
  • Add your email address under Email Notifications
  • Customize subject line and reply-to field
  • Publish your site for changes to take effect
  • Submit a test form to verify delivery
  • Check spam folder if notifications do not appear
